The Department of Cardiology was established in the year 2007 and was fully functional from October 2014. DM Cardiology course was commenced from the academic year 2017.

He is the professor and Head of the Department since 2014. He is a noted Cardiologist from Hyderabad. He worked as Professor and Head of the Department of Cardiology, Osmania Medical College, Secunderabad for 15 years. He also worked as Director of Medical Education, Andhra Pradesh for one year and also empanelled as examiner for DM Cardiology course since 15 years.

Dr V.S.R.Bhupal has done his M.B.B.S from Siddhartha Medical College, Vijayawada, MD in General Medicine from NRI Medical College, Vijayawada and DM in Cardiology from the prestigious Nizam’s Institute of Medical Sciences. He has worked as Senior Resident in Nizam’s Institute of Medical Sciences for one year and he is currently working as Assistant Professor in Department of Cardiology, Dr PSIMS & RF since September-2017.He has good experience in Coronary, Structural, Peripheral and Paediatric Interventions. He has performed more than 1000 interventions at Dr PSIMS & RF and actively participates in teaching post graduate and under graduate students. Recently he has performed Percutaneous closure of Post MI VSR in the department along with other colleagues which is the first of its kind in Andhra Pradesh and was well acclaimed among the cardiology fraternity in and around Andhra Pradesh. He has several publications to his credit and he has presented several papers in national and International conferences.

Passed out M.B.B.S. from the prestigious Bangalore Medical College & Research Institute in the year 2006. Did M.D. in Internal Medicine from Sri Devaraj Urs Medical College and D.M. in Cardiology from MS Ramaiah Medical College. Also pursued an M.B.A. from Kent Business School in the United Kingdom. Has a keen interest in Academics and Research. Active participant in Conferences and, has presented posters and delivered lectures at both national and international conferences.
Clinical interest is in the management of patients with Coronary artery disease, advanced heart failure and arrhythmias.
