The Ophthalmology department of Dr.Pinnamaneni Siddhartha Institute of Medical Sciences & Research Foundation has Slit Lamp with Chair unit with CCTV Attachment for the purpose of demonstrating the students, Auto Refractor for speedy Refraction, Two Vision rooms, Indirect and Slit Lamp Ophthalmoscopes, Paediatric Ophthalmology and Squint Assessment Equipment, Keratometry and ‘A’-Scan for Intra Ocular Lens Power Calculation, Automated Perimeter for Visual Field Assessment, and Minor O.T. for O.P.Procedures. Apart from regular Refractive Services, Glaucoma Screening, Corneal Scrapings for Corneal Ulcers, Diabetic Retinopathy Screening, Squint and Neuro-Ophthalmology Assessment are done on day-to-day basis in the Ophthalmology O.P.Department. Every patient selected for Cataract Surgery undergoes Screening for Diabetes Hypertension, ECG, Dental checkup,Biometry and Pre Anaesthetic checkup at a nominal price of Rs70.

The Ophthalmology department is a recognized centre for National Programme for Control of Blindness by Government of India under the aegis of District Blindness Control Society of Krishna District. The department conducts regular Community Health Camps, Cataract Screening Camps, and Free Cataract Surgeries. The 30 bedded Ophthalmic ward has all facilities and staff to take good care of the in-patients.
