ORTHOPAEDICS

Education:

Orthopaedic Surgery involves the study of diseases, disorders, and injuries to the musculoskeletal system and requires a comprehensive knowledge of anatomy, biology, mechanics, Pathophysiology, and epidemiology, as well as their application to the musculoskeletal system. The Department of Orthopaedics Surgery, more than 18 active faculty members direct clinical and educational activities to our students, residents.

Orthopaedic Surgery Residency Program broadens residents’ foundation in the basic sciences while providing exposure to clinical problems. Providing our residents with the experience essential to the diagnosis and treatment of adult and paediatric musculoskeletal disorders allows them to develop into knowledgeable, compassionate, and ethical Orthopaedic surgeons.

Coursework and Training

Seven residents are selected each year through the National Eligibility Entrance Test (NEET).Incoming residents spend the first year in a core program that includes rotations in trauma, emergency medicine, general surgery, neurological surgery, and plastic surgery. Throughout their residency, our residents participate in courses through the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons (AAOS) and continue fracture management education.
