PAEDIATRICS

The department of Paediatrics at Dr. Pinnamaneni Siddhartha Institute of Medical Sciences & Research Foundation is well reputed the high quality of care given, particularly in the area of intensive care.

The department of Paediatrics is full fledged with HOD and other professors and all teaching faculty as per MCI guidelines. We are having sufficient number of staff maintaining very successfully with lowest mortality in the department especially our NICU & PICU fully equipped with Radiant warmers, phototherapy units, Resuscitation kits & with central O2 of 24hrs supply & central suction, infusion pumps, pulse oxymeters & neonatal & Paediatric ventilators. We are taking care of just born babies form our OBG department and also babies born outside. All the deliveries are attended by our pediatricians by taking care of just born babies at the delivery rooms & Operation Theaters.

In PICU we are taking care of extremely sick children from the age of 1 month to 12 years. Attention has been paid to even small problems of Paediatric patients. We are maintaining PICU & NICU and giving special monitoring and other special intensive treatment & nursery care in the respective intensive care units.

We are conducting the outpatient department having good quality patient care. We are maintaining good communication with the parents of the children and with babies and children. There are good number of inpatients who are very well taken care and most of the cases are well diagnosed and treated and sent home, with good quality care and following up with advice – instructions. We have very good clinical material for the students to develop their skills and knowledge.

We are doing all the investigations necessary for the patient concerned with diseases and giving high quality treatment and keeping in view of the lowest mortality in mind. We are doing immunization daily to all children who come for vaccination. The vaccination is being done to all the new born babies delivered in our hospital regularly. We are giving the vaccines free of cost, supplied by the DM & HO, Machilipatnam as per IAP & National immunization schedule. Other vaccines are given after purchasing in our pharmacy at reasonable cost.

We are conducting baby welfare clinics with advice of Breast feeding, baby care & complimentary feeding, clearing doubts of parents and educating the parents especially, mothers about their feeding and the problems.

We are conducting Asthma clinics, child guidance clinic, Haematology (Thalassemia) & DTTU and also maintaining separate wards for Haematology & DTTU (Diarrhoea treatment training unit) in the Paediatric ward

We are taking lot of interest for teaching the undergraduates & Postgraduates to get the knowledge regarding skills and practice of examining the patients to come to a proper diagnosis and management. We undertake the teaching programme for under graduates & Post graduates in a systemic manner as pre the guidelines of the MCI & Dr. NTR University.

We are having very good section library and central library with plenty of books & Journals and also computes with internet facility to learn, read and to improve the knowledge and learning the latest skills and developing in a wise manner to become a good doctor.

We get all varieties of cases which are guided and managed properly. We are increasing the confidence in the parents and the patients regarding the quality care.
