INCEPTION:

The department of pathology started in the general hospital with a floor space of ______

in year 2003. It started with a basic teaching staff of one associate professor and 3 assistant

professors and reached present status.

LOCATION FLOOR SPACE:

The department of pathology is currently located as 2 wings one in second floor of the college and one in the first floor of the hospital. The college contingent consists of _____ floor space and provides room for HOD., Professors, associate professors, assistant professors, tutors and non teaching staff. It also provides accommodation for fully equipped wings of histopatho;ogy, cytology, stores, library and 2 research laboratories in addition to the 2 practical halls, 2 lecture demonstration rooms, 1 museum section, office and reception unit.

Hospital wing is located in a floor space of ______ and consists of a clinical pathology laboratory, one FNAC unit, one cell counter section and one cryostat section.

AMINITIES:

 

The department is equipped for all the routine investigations needed in the sections of biopsy, cytology, hematology, clinical pathology, museum and basic research.

 

MUSEUM:

 

consists of a central hall with 2 preparation rooms with 650 mounted specimens. There are also various models and charts of rare lesions.

The department of pathology has provision for power point, OHP, MIPS and direct teaching along with sufficient microscopes for students and staff.

There are 2 fully furnished practical halls and 2 demonstration halls, for small group tutorials.

The students are encouraged to participate in monthly seminar in pathology, they are exposed to integrated teaching, clinicopathological conferences and quiz during their tenure in the pathology department.
