Our institute Dr. PSIMS & RF has been recognized as the Medial Device Adverse Event Monitoring Centre (MDMC) by the Indian pharmacopeia commission, Materiovigilance program of India (MVPI) in February 2020.

A program on Sensitization and workshop on Materiovigilance- A Futuristic Stride was conducted on 9th March,2020 to sensitize our faculty and Postgraduate students and also the faculty and Post Graduate students of other medical colleges across the state.

The program was conducted by the department of Pharmacology in association with Indian Pharmacopeia Commission (IPC) as a part of Materiovigilance program of India (MVPI).

Andhra Pradesh Medical Council has awarded 2 credit hours for delegates and 3 credit hours for the resource persons.

This was a hybrid workshop with few online sessions and offline sessions with resource faculty from across the country. The delegates for the workshop attended from medical colleges across the state were Pharma D students, postgraduate students and faculty from Pharmacology department. We received a total of 181 registrations. Spontaneous reporting of the medical device related MDAE forms is the need of the hour.

All the sessions though online and offline were interactive. The queries posed by the delegates were addressed well by the resource faculty. The dilemmas and myths regarding reporting and mandatory elements during reporting have been addressed.

Dr. K. Sankar, Registrar, Dr. NTRUHS, Vijayawada was the chief guest for the occasion. Sir applauded the efforts which were taken by the Department of Pharmacology.
