On the occasion of World Cancer Day, a cancer awareness program was conducted at Sri Durga Malleswara Siddhartha Mahila Kalasala, Vijayawada, on 04th February 2026. An awareness talk and demonstration were presented by Dr. Suhasini, professor of Community Medicine, and Dr. Mahesh, assistant professor of Community Medicine, on this occasion.
Awareness was also provided to the participants on Human Papilloma Virus (HPV), menstrual hygiene, and health education. The program mainly focused on cancer screening & preventive measures regarding:
- Cervical Cancer,
- Breast Cancer,
- Urinary & Ovarian Cancer,
- Oral Cancer &
- Lung Cancer
The Urban Health Training Center, Vijayawada, of our institution has organized this program under the supervision of the Department of Community Medicine.
