WORLD HAND HYGIENE DAY

Hospital infection control committee (HICC) in association with NSS have celebrated “World Hand Hygiene Day 2019” on 7th May 2019. As a part of this, video and poster competitions were held for medical students and nurses. Students have enthusiastically participated in the programme with an overwhelming response from the nurses in the hospital. Prizes were distributed for the winners of the competition.

6th Semester students have created awareness among the audience by enacting the World Health Organization (WHO) Hand Hygiene theme for 2019 “clear care for all: it’s in your hands”. They have also performed a dance on the steps of hand hygiene bringing art to science.

Principal–Dr.P S N Murthy, Medical Superintendent –Dr.B N Chander, Professor & HOD of Microbiology & HICC Secretary– Dr.K.Vishnuvardhan Rao and Professor & HOD of Community Medicine Dr.J.Ravi Kumar and Infection control Physician Dr.M V Madhav were dignitaries of the event and talked about raising awareness on hand hygiene for better patient care. This event was successfully organised by Dr.B Srivalli (Infection Control Officer) and Dr.Ch Satya Kishore (NSS Officer) with the support of management and Academy.
